    THE INCREDIBLES DVD LOT

    Detailed item info

The Incredibles DVD is great for any family’s home movie collection and for viewers searching for a non-traditional superhero story. Disney Pixar’s animated movie centers on a family with super powers trying to fit into a normal society that no longer appreciates them. Superman-like Bob Parr struggles to reconcile his glory days with his new mundane suburban lifestyle as well as handle his brood of super children. When a supercharged villain threatens to eradicate all the old superheroes, Bob must become the incredible hero he once was, now with his family by his side. Created in stunning computer-generated animation, The Incredibles is filled with action, comedy, and a touch of feel-good family fun. Because of the use of complicated angles and fine artistry, this animated movie often feels like a live action feature. Lead voices include Craig T. Nelson, Samuel L. Jackson, Holly Hunter, Jason Lee, Dominique Louis, and director Brad Bird himself as the memorable Edna Mode. With Dolby Digital sound and a widescreen display, The Incredibles DVD is a great movie for the whole family to enjoy.

“[V]isually splendid and ethically serious….The movie is also refreshingly quiet, using music sparingly and showing as much attention to aural nuance as it does to visual detail.”
    New York Times – A. O. Scott (11/05/2004)

“[A] piece of animation that’s involving across a spectrum of comedy, action, even drama….Blessedly funny, there is also a surprising air of poignancy about much of it…”
Los Angeles Times – Kenneth Turan (11/05/2004)

“[O]ne of the year’s most clever and visually arresting computer-animated films, enlivened by a well-developed and credible cast of characters who just happen to be superheroes.”
USA Today – Claudia Puig (11/05/2004)

“[A] great story, a rich micro-universe of pixel-driven cartoon characters with more depth, complexity, and emotional maturity than those in most live-action dramas….Indeed incredible.”
Entertainment Weekly – Lisa Schwarzbaum (11/12/2004)

“[A] film that breaks fresh ground….Bird has crafted a film — one of the year’s best — that doesn’t ring cartoonish, it rings true.”
Rolling Stone – Peter Travers (11/25/2004)

“[Bird’s] ingenious self-penned script is heaving with brilliantly realised characters, snide putdowns and sharp one-liners that enhance the head-spinning action sequences with razor-sharp wit.”
    Uncut – Andrew Sumner (01/01/2005)

“[A] light comedy at heart….[The film] manages a great deal of genuine excitement…”
Sight and Sound – Kim Newman (01/01/2005)
